After an epic day of exploring Montreal, it was time to go to the Pink concert at the Bell Centre. We picked Ye Olde Orchard Pub and Grill for dinner.
They were playing all Pink music. They knew their audience that night!
We were early to the concert and waited outside until the doors opened. The girl behind us looks less than impressed!
Yup, definitely early!
Sylvie, Nika, me and Chris...and a heck of a lot of empty seats.
Getting ready...when I saw Pink in Boston, Pat Benatar opened for her. Tonight's opener was Grouplove, an alternative rock band from Los Angeles.
Grouplove...they were pretty good.
Wow...lots of phone flashlights.
And here we go!
No doubt she enjoys performing!
A little compilation of the night...
And with one last amazing, flying through the air, it was all over. Loved it so much!
This made me laugh. We had passed by this building on our first night, and Chris said the lighting wasn't good enough to take a picture of the Crescent Building. I promptly took a picture with my phone and thought it came out pretty well. I said to him, "This is pretty good." and he replied "OK. For you!" LOL yup. The difference between an amateur and a photographer.
Claudia, the lazy cow, is part of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts outdoor sculpture collection.
Along with Shadows II...
With Chris's cooler interpretation...
And also this man with the soulful eyes...
Chris taking his photo...
This pink contraption is called Love Buzz.
I would call this sculpture the Post-It Note Man...
Or on closer inspection, the Block Man.
This was by far the strangest sculpture. It is in front of the Bourgie Concert Hall and is called The Eye.
These cute chimpanzees are relatively new.
Such a pretty view...
Pedestrian walk at McGill University...the founder of the university, James McGill, has his remains interred in front of the Arts building.
We were up one street and down another, before he saw this pedestrian skywalk and claimed we were close.
He also knew it was near the old Pathology building.
This was more my speed by now...oh look, a tree!
By now, Sylvie was finished with her appointment and decided she would come and find us, despite Chris and Nika saying that probably wasn't a great idea. I give her high marks for determination. We stood on the side of the street and watched her drive by us, while we shouted and waved.
From then on, it became a game of them calling her and tracking her on their iPhones. Finally, we decided to just sit in one place and wait.
This guy was pretty awesome...Le Leçon (the Lesson) is on the corner of Sherbrooke Street and McGill College. It is a frantic student who doesn't realize a squirrel is stealing his lunch.
Of course, someone had to deface the computer screen.
This little guy was digging in the ground and got a nut for his troubles.
Finally, Chris and Nika could see on their phones that Sylvie was in a parking lot by McGill. With a phone call and a rather loud "don't move!" we walked up the street to find her. Love the mural on the building. There is so much art to see in Montreal.
And this is our final great memory of Montreal. Sylvie sitting in the parking lot chatting with the parking attendant. As we walked to the car, we heard him say "The sun rises in the east..." We cracked up laughing. Apparently, his directions weren't helping her!
The end of an awesome trip with family!
Nika getting the side eye...we were still waiting for Sylvie to loop back and pick us up.
An Inukshuk was nearby...maybe he could point Sylvie in the right direction.
