P!nk Concert (Take Two) in Montreal

After an epic day of exploring Montreal, it was time to go to the Pink concert at the Bell Centre. We picked Ye Olde Orchard Pub and Grill for dinner.

They were playing all Pink music. They knew their audience that night!

We were early to the concert and waited outside until the doors opened. The girl behind us looks less than impressed!

Yup, definitely early!

Sylvie, Nika, me and Chris...and a heck of a lot of empty seats.

My brother, Chris, and his wife, Sylvie.

Getting ready...when I saw Pink in Boston, Pat Benatar opened for her. Tonight's opener was Grouplove, an alternative rock band from Los Angeles.

Nika and her mom...they don't look much alike!

Now we're talking...

DJ Kid Cut Up...he really got the crowd going.

Not too excited!

Grouplove...they were pretty good.

And getting ready for Pink!

Wow...lots of phone flashlights.

And here we go!

Once again, a bunch of out-of-focus photos, but great memories.

Getting up close with the people on our side of the stadium.

She is so athletic! She was a competitive gymnast from ages 4 to 12. It shows!

No doubt she enjoys performing!

In a video I took, you can see the camera man was even singing.

Such a great show...

"Blow me One Last Kiss"

A little compilation of the night...

And with one last amazing, flying through the air, it was all over. Loved it so much!

Leaving the Bell Centre to walk back to the hotel...

Between our epic treasure hunting that day and the Pink concert, we got in a few steps.

The next morning, Sylvie had an appointment at the Apple Store, so Chris, Nika and I went out to explore and search for more "things to find" on Chris's list. Loved the witch on top of the building.

This made me laugh. We had passed by this building on our first night, and Chris said the lighting wasn't good enough to take a picture of the Crescent Building. I promptly took a picture with my phone and thought it came out pretty well. I said to him, "This is pretty good." and he replied "OK. For you!" LOL yup. The difference between an amateur and a photographer.

Very neat, old elevator. The kind where you step in and pull the accordion screen door closed.

Claudia, the lazy cow, is part of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts outdoor sculpture collection.

Along with Shadows II...

With Chris's cooler interpretation...

I do recall seeing these interesting features on a building, but no idea where.

And also this man with the soulful eyes...

Chris taking his photo...

This pink contraption is called Love Buzz.

I would call this sculpture the Post-It Note Man...

Or on closer inspection, the Block Man.

This was by far the strangest sculpture. It is in front of the Bourgie Concert Hall and is called The Eye.

These cute chimpanzees are relatively new.

I do recall seeing this potato stamp on the bottom of a foot, but no idea where it was. You get weird information when you google "potato stamp on foot!" Just sayin'...

Such a pretty view...

Pedestrian walk at McGill University...the founder of the university, James McGill, has his remains interred in front of the Arts building.

At this point, Nika and I were just walking and enjoying the surroundings, but Chris was on yet another mission. He had seen this picture on-line with a taunting caption of "Do You Know Where This Is?"

We were up one street and down another, before he saw this pedestrian skywalk and claimed we were close.

He also knew it was near the old Pathology building.

And ta-da! Another find for him. Well done!

The old Out Patients Department of McGill University.

The Montreal Theological College...I don't even remember seeing this!

This was more my speed by now...oh look, a tree!

By now, Sylvie was finished with her appointment and decided she would come and find us, despite Chris and Nika saying that probably wasn't a great idea. I give her high marks for determination. We stood on the side of the street and watched her drive by us, while we shouted and waved.

From then on, it became a game of them calling her and tracking her on their iPhones. Finally, we decided to just sit in one place and wait.

This guy was pretty awesome...Le Leçon (the Lesson) is on the corner of Sherbrooke Street and McGill College. It is a frantic student who doesn't realize a squirrel is stealing his lunch.

Of course, someone had to deface the computer screen.

Nika getting the side eye...we were still waiting for Sylvie to loop back and pick us up.

An Inukshuk was nearby...maybe he could point Sylvie in the right direction.

This little guy was digging in the ground and got a nut for his troubles.

Finally, Chris and Nika could see on their phones that Sylvie was in a parking lot by McGill. With a phone call and a rather loud "don't move!" we walked up the street to find her. Love the mural on the building. There is so much art to see in Montreal.

And this is our final great memory of Montreal. Sylvie sitting in the parking lot chatting with the parking attendant. As we walked to the car, we heard him say "The sun rises in the east..." We cracked up laughing. Apparently, his directions weren't helping her!

The end of an awesome trip with family!

LOVE all the outdoor art you photographed! Looks like you had an amazing time at the concert. I'm not a concert goer, but it looks fantastic, from the set up to the crowd. Had no idea she was a gymnast. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
