Sunday Chillin' in London

Our last day in London...the time has flown by. We had breakfast in the hotel and headed out to Westminster Abbey. Along the way we spotted...a car! This is a Smart car...they are getting quite sporty!

London Eye in front of the Old County Hall which is now a Marriott hotel.

Palace of Westminster, also known as the Houses of Parliament...contains 1100 rooms, 100 staircases and over 5 km of corridors.

On to the Abbey...

Drat! Closed on Sundays...oh well, nice that they keep it that way on Sunday...

Elaborate decoration above one of the doors...

Has been the coronation church since 1066 and 17 monarchs are buried here...

Church service was just finishing as we got there...

Beautiful ivy covered building...

This is one of the ivy branches...look at the size of it!

Big Ben with the London Eye in the background...

Winston Churchill's statue...no pigeon on his head!

There were so many people out today...the trains were full and it was slow going around any of the tourist sites. We decided to head back and do our packing...

We went back to Savoir Faire for dinner, the restaurant we ate at on our first night. The food is really good and, by London standards, fairly inexpensive...

You do see all kinds of people...

We had a wonderful time in London! I don't know how much blogging I'll be able to do from the cruise. Satellite internet is quite slow at times, but it would be great to have a complete journal when I get home.
