Puttering Around the Resort in Cayo Santa Maria

A morning at the Sanctuary began with a made-to-order omelette. They were so good! I cannot imagine how many eggs they go through in a day. We normally sat outside and tried to stay out of the line of fire of these seagulls (or whatever birds they are.) They loved to steal bread off the tables.

Buddy is plotting his next move...

The prerequisite toes in the photo... The catamaran guy worked for tips and was waiting for customers. He was usually pretty busy. We kept saying "manana" and somehow we never did get around to it.

Jim checking out the water...

Well, now we're talking! How cute is this?

And we finally discovered a drink that wasn't too sweet...vodka and lemon. Just the right amount of sweet and tart! Cheers!

The gardeners work so hard...

The walk down to the beach...

The sandwich hut at the beach...the pulled chicken was to die for!

And back to the lobby bar...there were five à la carte restaurants. I think we were going to the Italian this night. The Mediterranean was excellent, as was the Italian.

A Pepper cat...he loved treats and I had brought some from home.

Awww...cutest elephant!

Where is everyone?!

And these tiny little buggers were biting a lot of people. We had been taking an antihistamine for a week before we left and also while we were there. Some people's legs were covered. I got off pretty easy; Jim, as usual, seemed to have some sort of reaction to bug bites.

There was a separate pizza stand, which did a great business. Another of those "manana" moments that never happened. It wasn't like we were going hungry.

The long hill from Grand Memories to the Sanctuary...

Tomorrow we're planning to do a sunset cruise...
